Pete Alonso Goes Deep Twice In Rout Of Cubs
1 year agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso led the way in the team's 11-2 dismantling of the visiting Chicago Cubs on Monday night by going 3-for-4 with two home runs, a career-high-tying six RBI and two runs scored. The 28-year-old slugger got going right away with a three-run bomb in the first inning, and the Mets never looked back. The multi-homer game was the fourth of the year for Alonso, and he now ranks third in the big leagues in home runs (33) and RBI (83). He's hitting just .225 (87-for-386) with a .317 on-base percentage, but most fantasy managers are completely fine sacrificing a low batting average for the game-changing type of power that he possesses. Alonso will remain a must-start in fantasy lineups the rest of the way.
