New York Rangers forward Pavel Buchnevich came to terms on a new two-year, $6.5 million contract on Monday. The 24-year-old restricted free-agent's deal came just hours before a scheduled arbitration hearing with the Rangers. Buchnevich took a step forward in his third NHL season in 2018-2019, establishing new career-highs in goals (21), power-play goals (seven) and points-per-game (0.59). After earning an average of just 13:16 of ice time per game last season, the Russian native will look to grasp a hold on a top-six forward role on the Rangers in the fall, an opportunity that would allow him to better utilize his high-end skill. If he can get in good graces will head coach David Quinn, Buchnevich could serve as a very intriguing fantasy sleeper for upcoming drafts.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
