11 months agoThe Texas Rangers have had a strong start to the opening of Monday's 2024 international signing period by adding three of MLB Pipeline's top-50 international prospects, with the most notable being outfielder Paulino Santana for a $1.3 million signing bonus. Santana is No. 2 on the prospect rankings and is a toolsy player with above-average speed and power with a strong arm and strong hit tool. Their other two notable first-day signings are shortstops Curley Martha and Yolfran Castillo. The 17-year-old Santana has the potential to develop into being one of the top prospects from this year's class with five-tool talent, and he has the ability to stick as a starting center fielder in the long term.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
