Patrick Bailey Back From Injured List And Starting Wednesday
The San Francisco Giants activated rookie catcher Patrick Bailey from the concussion injured list on Wednesday and optioned catcher Joey Bart to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Bailey is immediately back behind the plate and is batting sixth in the order on Wednesday against the visiting Cleveland Guardians and left-hander Logan Allen. The Giants will get the 24-year-old back as they attempt to secure the final wild-card spot in the National League down the stretch. In his first year in the big leagues in 2023, Bailey has hit .248/.304/.390 with seven home runs, 17 doubles, a triple, 45 RBI and 26 runs scored in 84 games. He will operate as San Fran's starting catcher the rest of the way.
