Manny Machado Heating Up Again, Hits Two Homers Against Braves
San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado went hitless in the first three games out of last week's All-Star break over the weekend, but he's turned things around so far this week and had another big game offensively in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. Machado went 2-for-5 at the plate with two solo home runs and a strikeout to raise his season average to .204 and his OPS to .727. The 34-year-old veteran and seven-time All-Star has been a disappointment average-wise and with a .294 on-base percentage, but he's now up to 22 home runs on the year and has added 59 RBI, 50 runs scored, and two stolen bases in 413 plate appearances, so he has still been an asset in counting stats and for his power. Machado also homered in Monday's series opener in Atlanta, so he's gone deep three times in the last two days after going 0-for-9 over the weekend in the series in Kansas City against the Royals. So far in 16 games and 69 plate appearances in July, Machado is hitting .281 (16-for-57) with a 1.005 OPS, six home runs, a double, 13 RBI, 10 runs, and a steal. Fantasy managers who bought low on him have been pleased.

Max Clark Blasts Leadoff Home Run as MLB Debut Approaches
Detroit Tigers outfield prospect Max Clark belted a leadoff home run for the Mud Hens on Tuesday in a two-hit night as he continues to make the case for a major-league debut. Caleb Bonemer Still Trending Upward as He Settles in at Double-A
Chicago White Sox infield prospect Caleb Bonemer was promoted to Double-A Birmingham in mid-June and is holding his own despite being one of the younger players at that level. The 20-year-old is slashing .250/.365/.409 with four home runs and three steals in 24 games, although the bulk of that production has come in the last 12 games alone. During that 12-game stretch, Chicago's top-ranked prospect is hitting .302 with all four of his home runs (including one in his latest game on Tuesday) and two of his three steals coming in that span, so he certainly appears to be getting more comfortable there. There has also been a notable drop in strikeout rate upon his promotion, with the right-handed hitter going from a 29.1 percent K% at High-A to a more palatable 23.1 percent K% at Double-A. The former second-round draft pick's stock has increased quite a bit year-over-year, with the 6-foot-1 slugger moving from No. 11 to No. 1 in Chicago's system and from outside the top 100 per MLB Pipeline to No. 16 overall. Though a major league debut likely won't come until sometime next season at the earliest, with a solid all-around skill set, he's become a coveted dynasty asset.

Tommy Edman Emerging as Priority Waiver-Wire Target During Hot Streak
Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Tommy Edman did not make his 2026 season debut until mid-June due to offseason ankle surgery. However, the veteran switch-hitter has been on fire since making his return to the lineup, entering play on Tuesday slashing .354/.440/.519 with two home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored, and two stolen bases across 93 plate appearances. Jose Corniell Placed on 10-Day Injured List Due to Arm Troubles

Will Smith Transferred to 60-Day Injured List on Tuesday
Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith (neck) was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Tuesday, per a team announcement. Nick Lodolo Set to Throw Bullpen on Wednesday

Max Fried to Come Off Injured List to Start Game 2 of Doubleheader on Wednesday
The New York Yankees are saying that left-hander Max Fried (elbow) will be reinstated from the 60-day injured list to start in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader in the Bronx against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates, according to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. The original plan was for Fried to make one more minor-league rehab start on Wednesday and throw around 60 pitches before rejoining the team's starting rotation early next week against the Chicago White Sox. Fantasy managers will be glad to get the 32-year-old veteran southpaw back for the first time since he suffered a bone bruise in his left elbow in mid-May, but they'd be wise to keep him on their benches for what will likely be an abbreviated outing on Wednesday against the Bucs. The former seventh overall pick by the San Diego Padres in 2012 won 19 games in his first year in pinstripes in 2025 and was 4-3 with a strong 3.21 ERA (2.71 FIP), 1.00 WHIP, and 50:19 K:BB in 61 2/3 innings over 10 starts before landing on the IL. Fried shouldn't be available on the waiver wire in any fantasy leagues.

Jacob Misiorowski to Make his Next Start on Sunday
Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski will make his next start at home this Sunday against the Colorado Rockies, according to Hunter Baumgardt of FOX Sports 920 Milwaukee. Misiorowski will end up taking his normal turn in the starting rotation for the Brew Crew after recently being given extra rest going into and out of last week's All-Star Game due to right-arm fatigue. The 24-year-old flamethrower returned to the mound in Monday's series opener versus the New York Mets and was limited to four innings, allowing an unearned run on four hits while walking one and striking out six. Manager Pat Murphy said that the Miz was getting his legs back under him in his first start since July 7. After a heavy first-half workload, the Brewers will get creative in the second half in limiting his innings so that he's not worn down for the postseason. Despite a potential shorter leash this weekend, Misiorowski will be an absolute must-start in fantasy lineups against Colorado. In his first start against the Rockies at hitter-friendly Coors Field on June 6, Misiorowski allowed an unearned run with three walks and eight strikeouts in seven innings for his seventh win of the year.

Julio Rodriguez Sitting Out With Leg Injury Against Reds
Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez (leg) is being held out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Cincinnati Reds at T-Mobile Park, according to MLB.com. Victor Robles is making the start in center field and will bat seventh against Reds right-hander Chase Burns on Tuesday. The three-time All-Star and former American League Rookie of the Year has been a 20-20 man in all four of his big-league seasons, and he's reached the hallowed 30-30 mark twice. Rodriguez is a must-start when active and is currently slashing .256/.320/.417 with a .737 OPS, 14 home runs, 42 RBI, 47 runs, and 12 stolen bases in 90 games across 391 plate appearances in 2026.

Corbin Carroll Back From Elbow Injury on Tuesday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (elbow) is starting in right field and will bat third for the D-backs on Tuesday at Chase Field against the visiting Athletics and right-hander Jack Perkins, per MLB.com. The game between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday has been postponed due to inclement weather, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader at Fenway Park on Wednesday. Rookie left-hander Eduardo Rivera was scheduled to start for Boston on Tuesday, while being opposed by Orioles right-hander Kyle Bradish. Otto Lopez Returning From Finger Injury on Tuesday
Miami Marlins middle infielder Otto Lopez (finger) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff for the Fish on Tuesday against the hosting Houston Astros and right-hander Tatsuya Ima at Daikin Park, per MLB.com. Lopez suffered a finger injury when he was hit by a groundball on Saturday, causing him to miss the team's last two games. The 27-year-old Dominican should be returned to all starting lineups in traditional fantasy formats on Tuesday now that he's back.
