2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies center Xavier Tillman Sr. (knee) was announced week-to-week as he recovers from his knee injury. The team announced this news on Monday, making it sound like he's doubtful to play this week. Bismack Biyombo should continue to start in his place while Jaren Jackson Jr. stays at the power forward spot. Behind them, Santi Aldama has been seeing a good chunk of playing time while David Roddy and Kenneth Lofton Jr. only get the leftover scraps. The former three would be the best options of the Grizzlies' frontcourt players.Source: Grizzlies PR
2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies shooting guard Luke Kennard (knee) is currently dealing with a left-knee bone bruise, and the team has announced that he will be re-evaluated in two weeks. The 27-year-old suffered the injury on Nov. 14 in their game against the Los Angeles Lakers, so fantasy managers will want to find a replacement since he'll miss the next six to seven games. John Konchar, Jacob Gilyard, and Derrick Rose are going to be the best streaming options on this team since Ja Morant (suspended) and Marcus Smart (ankle) are both out for the foreseeable future as well.Source: Grizzlies PR
2 weeks agoCleveland Cavaliers forward Caris LeVert (knee) has received a questionable tag for the team's Tuesday night game against the Philadelphia 76ers. LeVert has played a big role in the team's offense while Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) and Isaac Okoro (knee) have both been out. If LeVert can't suit up, that leaves a big void for minutes in the rotation. Sam Merrill will likely be the one impacted the most either way if LeVert can or cannot play, and he would be a solid streaming option if LeVert does have to be sidelined.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 weeks agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) has already been ruled out for his third consecutive game due to a right hamstring strain. The star guard leaves a big hole in the starting five and the offense, plus it makes the game against the Philadelphia 76ers a little more worrisome since Caris LeVert (knee) is also marked as questionable. With Mitchell out, Darius Garland should see some more usage while Dean Wade remains in the starting lineup. Georges Niang and Craig Porter Jr. will also see increased opportunities.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 weeks agoPhiladelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (ribs) returned to practice on Monday for the first time since he was struck by a car earlier this month. Reports came out that he could return to the court earlier than originally expected and his return to practice is an indicator of his sped-up recovery process. With that being said, he only participated in individual, non-contact work. Nicolas Batum will remain in the starting lineup until Oubre can get back on the floor.Source: Keith Pompey - Philadelphia Inquirer
2 weeks agoDetroit Pistons forward Isaiah Livers (ankle) is prepared to make his season debut on Monday night against the Denver Nuggets after being upgraded from questionable to available. It's unclear how he'll fit into the rotation just yet since he hasn't played in the regular season, but since the team is missing three players that normally are in the rotation, he may get some minutes. Livers averaged 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds last year so he likely won't be fantasy relevant except for very deep leagues.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 weeks agoDetroit Pistons center Jalen Duren (ankle) was originally upgraded to questionable but head coach Monty Williams said that he's been playing 3-on-3 and has been able to do more. He's expected to be back "soon" which means he won't be playing against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. Duren has missed the last four consecutive games with this ankle issue and may be out for more after Monday. While he's out, Marvin Bagley III and Isaiah Stewart should both see extra opportunities.Source: Mike Curtis
2 weeks agoOrlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. (finger) remains listed as out for Tuesday's In-Season Tournament game versus the Toronto Raptors. Carter fractured the third metacarpal in his left hand late in Nov. 2's game against the Utah Jazz and the Magic later announced that they would re-evaluate him in three weeks. Orlando opens up a six-game homestand on Tuesday, but they've not yet offered an update on Carter's status, or any kind of indication that the 24-year-old big man's return is imminent. Carter was really struggling to return fantasy value before suffering the setback, averaging just 9.4 points on 37.8% field-goal shooting and a 57.1% free-throw success rate. The former No. 7 overall pick is still worth stashing in most fantasy leagues, while Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze share minutes evenly at the five in his stead.Source: NBA.com
2 weeks agoOrlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz (knee) is still listed as out for Tuesday's In-Season Tournament game versus the Toronto Raptors. The tally is up to six games consecutively and nine out of 10 absences for Fultz, as he continues to deal with nagging tendinitis in his surgically repaired left knee. The 25-year-old's next chance to return comes on Wednesday when the Magic host the defending-champion Denver Nuggets, but we're not holding our breath for that to happen at this point. Head coach Jamahl Mosley should continue adopting a hot-hand approach with guards Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, and Anthony Black while Fultz is recovering. Suggs has proven to the most reliable of the three thus far, registering mid-round fantasy value with averages of 12.4 points, 2.1 steals, and 1.5 triples in 27.0 minutes covering 12 games for Orlando.Source: NBA.com
2 weeks agoDetroit Pistons forward Bojan Bogdanovic (calf) remains on the shelf for Monday's game versus the Denver Nuggets. There's been no sign of Bogdanovic yet in 2023-24, as he's been sidelined since the preseason with a low-grade right calf strain. Losers of 11 in a row, the Pistons could really use a lift right about now, but cavalry in the form of their scoring leader from a year ago (21. 6 points per game) doesn't appear to be close to arriving any time soon. The 34-year-old marksman's fantasy stash appeal is slowly beginning to dwindle, since there could be some type of ramp-up process for Bogdanovic after he is cleared to resume basketball activities. 2023 No. 5 overall pick Ausar Thompson remains a must-start in Bogey's absence, posting top-75 9-category value with 11.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.9 combined steals and blocks per night.Source: NBA.com
2 weeks agoThe Utah Jazz have cleared center Walker Kessler (elbow) to begin basketball contact this week and he will be re-evaluated in one week. The 22-year-old has been dealing with a UCL sprain in his left elbow since the regular-season opener before the Jazz took the cautious route, shutting him down on Nov. 8 with a planned two-week timetable. Kessler will likely have to ramp back up before any return to game action, meaning he still could be a week or two out from being a fantasy factor. The second-year big man was mired in an early sophomore slump before going down, averaging 8.3 points on 54.9% shooting from the field in 24.0 minutes covering eight games after hitting 72.0% of his shots during his rookie year. Keyonte George and Ochai Agbaji have seen the largest spikes in playing time with Kessler out, but hopefully you're punting either field-goal percentage or turnovers to really capitalize on George's streaming worth.Source: Michael Scotto - USA Today
2 weeks agoBoston Celtics guard Derrick White (personal) won't play on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets for personal reasons. White was also absent for consecutive games on Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 while tending to a personal matter, so hopefully all is well on his end. The Celtics will hope that the 29-year-old defensive glue guy can return to the court by the time a showdown with the Milwaukee Bucks rolls around on Wednesday. White remains a key cog to Boston's star-studded lineup, averaging 13.6 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.4 three-pointers during 31.3 minutes through 11 contests. Al Horford (rest) would have been a candidate to start in White's absence, but the veteran big man is also sitting out for rest purposes. It leaves head coach Joe Mazzulla with role players Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard as options for expanded roles and possible DFS budget choices for fantasy players on Monday.Source: Taylor Snow - Celtics.com
2 weeks agoSan Antonio Spurs guard/forward Devin Vassell (groin) remains out for Monday's game versus the Los Angeles Clippers due to a left adductor strain. It's set to be the third straight game Vassell has missed and fifth overall with the injury that he originallyread more...
2 weeks agoThe Miami Heat confirmed on Monday that guard Tyler Herro (ankle) is out of his walking boot. Herro suffered a Grade 2 ankle sprain early in Nov. 8's game against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Heat later announced that they would re-evaluate him in a few weeks. The 23-year-old combo guard sustained a nasty-looking roll on his right ankle on the foot of Jaren Jackson Jr. in that one, so fantasy managers should be pleased to hear that he's progressing well so far. An obvious must-stash, Herro is rolling with third-round value as Miami's scoring leader this season on potent averages of 22.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.6 dimes, 3.1 treys, and 1.4 swipes in 34.0 minutes over eight games. Catch-and-shoot man Duncan Robinson should continue to start for head coach Erik Spoelstra in the interim, averaging 17.8 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.5 threes in 35.4 minutes over his last six games.Source: Ira Winderman - South Florida Sun Sentinel
2 weeks agoLos Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James once again turned back the clock during Sunday's matchup against Houston, leading all scorers with 37 points and helping the team battle out a 105-104 victory. James had a quiet start to the contest, scoring just two points in the first quarter, but it was a vintage performance from him for the rest of the way. The NBA's all-time leading scorer pulled out all the tricks on the offensive end, including a thunderous dunk on a drive, to finish with 14-for-19 shooting from the field. James also extended his stretch of 40 percent or better shooting from deep to five games with a 2-for-5 effort, and he completed his line with six rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. It might be the 21st year in the league for James, but it looks more like his first sometimes, as the veteran superstar still boasts plenty of explosiveness and plays with a lot of enthusiasm.Source: ESPN
