Tristan Beck (arm) was cleared to resume full baseball activity after a follow-up appointment with Dr. Jason Lee on May 11 and he's currently throwing out to 120 feet. The 27-year-old felt his hand go cold after throwing some bullpen sessions early in spring training, so he was sent back to San Francisco to be evaluated by team doctors on Feb. 27. An aneurysm was the source of the numbness, and Beck was moved to the 60-day injured list on March 3 and had surgery at Stanford the next day to address an abnormal bulge in the wall of a blood vessel in his right arm. The Giants aren't rushing Beck back by any means, but barring a setbacks as he builds his arm back up, he should be an option for the team's starting rotation in the second half of the season.

Alex Cobb (hip, shoulder) is scheduled to throw off a mound this week. Cobb is currently throwing out to 110-120 feet on flat ground but is ready to take the next step to the mound this week. He was progressing well in his rehab from offseason left-hip surgery but hit another setback when he felt mild shoulder irritation before throwing a bullpen session on April 16. He was moved to the 60-day injured list on April 20 and attempted to resume throwing after that, but he was shut down again after continuing to experience soreness in his right shoulder. Cobb received a cortisone injection in his shoulder in mid-May and also started taking nerve medication, which appears to have done the trick. Because of how much time he's already missed in 2024, the 36-year-old veteran probably won't be a realistic option for fantasy managers until late July.

Austin Warren (elbow) has already made multiple appearances on a minor-league rehab assignments in the Arizona Complex League as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. The 28-year-old signed a one-year, $755,000 contract with the Giants on Feb. 14 and could help boost the team's bullpen once he's finally healthy. Warren posted a 3.55 ERA over 32 career appearances for the Los Angeles Angels from 2021 to 2023, also recording a 1.24 WHIP, one save, 10 walks and 31 strikeouts in 38 relief innings pitched. If Warren can avoid any setbacks in the minors during his rehab assignment, he could return to make his 2024 debut for the Giants before the All-Star break in mid-July. He's not on the fantasy radar.

Robbie Ray (elbow) struck out five and didn't allow a hit in two scoreless innings in his second minor-league rehab start in the Arizona Complex League on Saturday, June 8. The Giants have been pleased with Ray's progress from Tommy John surgery so far, but he likely won't be ready to join the starting rotation until around the All-Star break in mid-July. The 32-year-old veteran southpaw is still building his arm back up and still has a ways to go, but so far, so good. When Ray is healthy and ready to make his Giants debut in the second half of the season, he should be rostered in most fantasy formats for his strikeout upside, although a pitcher known for control problems along the way could be a work in progress as he returns from Tommy John surgery in 2024.

LaMonte Wade Jr. (hamstring) will take batting practice on Tuesday. Wade has been rehabbing in Arizona and started his throwing and hitting progressions last Wednesday. He injured his left hamstring after sliding into second base for a double in the team's May 27 win over the Philadelphia Phillies, and an MRI exam revealed a Grade 2 strain. Wade was put on the 10-day injured list on May 28 and is expected to miss around four weeks. We'll have a better idea of how much longer the 30-year-old will be out once he resumes running the bases. Wade hasn't provided many counting stats in 129 at-bats in 2024, but he's hitting a strong .333 (43-for-129) as the team's primary first baseman when healthy.

Marco Luciano (hamstring) began his throwing, hitting and running progression on June 3. He initially injured his right hamstring while running to first base and reaching on an errant throw on May 29 and was placed on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 30) with a right-hamstring strain. The team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, is eligible to return from the IL on Monday but will need some more time before rejoining the big-league roster. With veteran
Nick Ahmed (wrist) potentially returning later this week, it's possible the Giants send the 22-year-old Luciano back to the minors when he's healed up. Before his injury, Luciano had gone 9-for-24 (.375) with two doubles and an RBI in just 10 games in his second appearance in the big leagues.
Brett Wisely will continue to see starts at short for the Giants until Ahmed or Luciano return.

Nick Ahmed (wrist) will resume his minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday after briefly being shut down due to a minor setback that he experienced with his left wrist after starting a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on June 1. Ahmed is ramping up again and resumed full baseball activities in Arizona. The veteran shortstop initially left the team's May 9 loss to the Colorado Rockies in the fourth inning after taking an awkward swing in his previous plate appearance and was diagnosed with a left-wrist sprain. The 34-year-old had been experiencing some discomfort since he took a line drive off his wrist during a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 27.
Brett Wisely has mainly been filling in at the 6 with Ahmed out, but he's likely to return to a bench role when Ahmed is ready to return.

Blake Snell (groin) is scheduled to throw off a mound this week. Snell was placed on the 15-day injured list for the second time already this year on June 3, a day after he left in the middle of an at-bat in the fifth inning against the New York Yankees. He missed 25 games with another left-groin strain in April after signing in late with the Giants during spring training. Manager Bob Melvin said an MRI exam showed that the strain was mild. Snell threw out to 75 feet last Thursday and is now ready for some bullpen sessions. Despite his rough start with the Gigantes, last year's National League Cy Young winner needs to remain stashed in all fantasy leagues for his strikeout upside. It's been a rough go so far in San Fran, as Snell currently has an 0-3 record, 9.51 ERA, 1.94 WHIP, 31 strikeouts and 14 walks in 23 2/3 innings.

Kenta Maeda (abdomen) has been cleared to start on Tuesday versus the visiting Washington Nationals. Maeda left his last start last Wednesday against the Texas Rangers after just two pitches due to right-abdominal discomfort, but the veteran hurler recovered nicely this weekend and will not be forced to miss a turn through Detroit's rotation. Fantasy managers will want to avoid the 36-year-old for his start against Washington, though. Maeda hasn't been very healthy this year and has had poor results when he's been on the mound, going 2-2 with a 6.25 ERA (5.85 FIP) and 1.41 WHIP with a 30:12 K:BB in 40 1/3 innings and 10 starts. In his start before getting hurt on June 5, Maeda allowed five earned runs in a loss to the Boston Red Sox on May 31.

Alex Bregman (hand) is back at third base and in his customary second spot in the batting order on Monday for the series opener in San Francisco against the Giants and left-hander
Kyle Harrison. Bregman was pulled from Sunday's series finale against the Los Angeles Angels early after being hit on the left hand by a pitch, the second time last week that happened. Bregman said he was hit in a different spot on Sunday, though, and he was once again able to avoid a significant injury when X-rays came back negative. Fantasy managers will want to get the 30-year-old two-time All-Star back in their starting lineups this week. The former second overall pick in 2015 out of LSU comes into Monday's game riding an 11-game hitting streak. Over that span, he has five home runs, two doubles, a triple and nine RBI.

Andrew Benintendi (Achilles) and
Tommy Pham (ankle) were sent to the Arizona Complex League on Monday to start their minor-league rehab assignments. Benintendi could come off the 10-day injured list later this week when he's eligible while dealing with left-Achilles tendonitis. On a bad White Sox team, the 29-year-old left-handed hitter is lacking fantasy value in mixed leagues while currently hitting .195/.230/.284 with four home runs, 18 RBI and 13 runs scored in 190 at-bats. Like Benintendi, Pham could return on Thursday when he's eligible to come off the 10-day IL if he avoids setbacks with his left-ankle sprain in the minors early this week. The 36-year-old has been much more productive for the Pale Hose, hitting .280 with three home runs and three steals in just 33 games in 2024.

Ben Lively (undisclosed) has been sent back to Cleveland to undergo some medical exams with an undisclosed injury, and there is no word yet on the results. Hopefully it's not a serious injury that Lively has been dealing with, as he's been terrific for Cleveland and his fantasy managers, winning each of his last five starts while giving up eight earned runs on 23 hits (five home runs) while walking six and fanning 22 in 28 1/3 innings since May 14. However, the 32-year-old veteran was removed from his latest outing early on Saturday against the Miami Marlins after throwing 65 pitches in five shutout innings. Manager
Stephen Vogt said Lively experienced tightness after sitting for an extended period in the top of the fifth inning. With two off days this week, the Guardians could certainly skip Lively's turn in the rotation this week.

Dean Kremer (triceps) threw a bullpen session on Monday and is likely to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment as the next step. It remains to be seen how many rehab starts the O's will require Kremer to make before they reinstate him from the 15-day injured list. The 28-year-old has already been out for three weeks with a right-triceps strain and will most likely require more than one rehab start before he rejoins the Orioles' starting rotation. Before going on the shelf, the former 14th-round pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016 out of Nevada went 3-4 with a 4.32 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 49 strikeouts and 18 walks in 50 innings over his nine starts. Kremer is a viable matchup-based deep-league streamer when he's healthy with a strong Orioles offense backing him.

Jordan Romano (elbow), who received an anti-inflammatory injection in his right elbow on June 2, will resume throwing on Monday. The plan is to get Romano out to 150 feet and proceed to mound work from there. The 31-year-old right-handed reliever is being brought along slowly after landing on the injured list for the second time already this season, but he could avoid going on a minor-league rehab assignment if the Blue Jays like what they see from him once he starts throwing off the mound and against live hitters in batting practice. Matt Chapman (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting Houston Astros. Chapman felt his hamstring tighten/cramp up while diving for a ball on Saturday night against the Texas Rangers and was held out of Sunday's lineup as a precaution, so he'll miss his second straight game. For now, the 31-year-old veteran should be considered day-to-day with an injury that doesn't appear to be very serious. Chapman has gone 7-for-27 (.259) with no homers, three doubles, one RBI, six stolen bases and eight strikeouts in seven games so far in the month of June and is hitting .240/.318/.407 with eight homers and 28 RBI in 274 plate appearances in his first year with the team.
