Tom Kim Striking The Ball Well Heading To Pinehurst
6 months agoTom Kim should be on the radar of fantasy managers this week as he heads to Pinehurst in solid form. The 21-year-old rising star has slowly climbed back to OWGR No. 22 after making the cut in eight consecutive starts, including a T30 at the Masters, a T26 at the PGA Championship and an impressive T4 at the RBC Canadian Open two weeks ago. He's gained strokes off-the-tee and from tee-to-green in four straight starts as well, and his short game was trending up until a disastrous putting performance en route to a T43 at last week's Memorial Tournament. Kim, a three-time PGA Tour winner, has also gained an average of over four strokes ball-striking in his last seven major appearances, and he's shown the ability to contend in Majors with a T8 finish at last year's US Open and a T2 at last year's The Open Championship. Statistically, he should be a solid course fit for Pinehurst as well, as he ranks 22nd in fairways gained, 24th on approach from 200+ yards, and 37th in weighted around-the-green play. Kim's upside, recent form, Major history, and ability to spike on the greens certainly warrant significant ownership at a mere $7,300 DraftKings salary.
