Sahith Theegala Out Of Form Ahead Of The PLAYERS Championship
Source: PGA Tour
Sahith Theegala has struggled so far in 2025, recording just one result inside the top 35 in his seven starts this season. He now turns his attention to The PLAYERS Championship, an event he has played in three times, including a T9 finish here last year. To succeed at TPC Sawgrass, players need to excel from tee to green, with particular emphasis on accuracy off the tee and on approach. Theegala ranks 133rd in driving accuracy, 128th in strokes gained from tee to green (minus-0.249 per round), 116th off the tee (minus-0.079 per round), and 116th on approach (minus-0.120 per round). He also ranks in the 56th percentile over the last 12 months in proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that accounted for 32.3% of all approach shots at Sawgrass last year. Given his recent form, Theegala is a player that fantasy managers should avoid this week.Matt Fitzpatrick A Shaky Play Heading Into PLAYERS
Source: PGA Tour
Thus far in 2025, it has been a relatively steady year for Matt Fitzpatrick. He has made the cut in four out of five events and has two top-25 finishes. His course history at TPC Sawgrass is as boom or bust as anyone in the field. In his eight times playing the stadium course, he has missed the cut four times, has two top-10s, and placed 41st or worse twice. The former U.S. Open winner has had trouble controlling his irons with a -.0162 strokes gained approach to green, ranking 162nd on tour. Solid short iron play and precision accuracy off the tee are essential to succeed at the stadium course. Trusting Fitzpatrick this week is tough, especially at his $9,300 price tag on FanDuel. Scottie Scheffler Eyeing Three-Peat At TPC Sawgrass
Although Scottie Scheffler gained strokes in nearly every aspect of his game at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, his struggles with his putter -- where he lost 5.3 strokes -- kept him from climbing the leaderboard as he ultimately finished T11. Heread more...
Aldrich Potgieter A Risky Play At TPC Sawgrass

Si Woo Kim Looks To Keep Building Momentum At The PLAYERS
Source: PGA Tour
With four top-25 finishes, Si Woo Kim has had a solid start to the 2025 season. This past week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he finished T-19. His best finish was at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he placed 12th. TPC Sawgrass is a venue where he has seen success with a victory back in 2017, where he won by three shots. The key to success at the stadium course is accuracy off the tee and precision with the short and mid irons. Kim ranks 24th in driving accuracy and 50th in strokes gained approach to green. After finishing T-6 in last year's PLAYERS championship, he is bound to contend again this week. He is a strong play in DFS at his $9,200 price tag. Denny McCarthy Looks To Continue Solid Play At TPC Sawgrass
Source: PGA Tour
Denny McCarthy has played very sharply in 2025. He has made the cut in every event he has played in, has four top-20 finishes, and one top-5. His best finish came at The Genesis Invitational with a T-5. He looks to carry his momentum into the PLAYERS Championship, where he has also made the cut in each of the five times he's started the event. However, he has only finished in the top 20 once, which came in 2023 with a T-13. He has finished 35th or worse in the other four starts. McCarthy hopes to change his fortunes with his driving accuracy and stellar iron play. He ranks 38th in approach to green and 67th in driving accuracy. Combined with his strong putting, which ranks 56th, he may find himself in contention this week and could be worth a flyer in DFS.Collin Morikawa Poised For Another Strong Performance At TPC Sawgrass

Robert MacIntyre A Risky Play With Upside At The PLAYERS Championship
Source: PGA Tour
Robert MacIntyre has started six PGA Tour events this year, making the cut in five, including four top-10 finishes. He now turns his attention to THE PLAYERS Championship, an event he has competed in twice, missing the cut in both 2021 and 2024. To succeed at TPC Sawgrass, players need to be solid from tee to green, with an emphasis on accuracy off the tee and on approach. MacIntyre ranks 15th in strokes gained from tee to green (1.044 per round), 21st in driving accuracy, and 55th in strokes gained on approach (0.338 per round). However, he has struggled in proximity from key distances, ranking in just the 28th percentile over the last 12 months in proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that accounted for 32.3% of all approach shots at Sawgrass last year. While MacIntyre carries some risk due to his history at this event, fantasy managers should consider him at his $8,300 price tag on DraftKings.Jordan Spieth Looking To Change Fortunes At TPC Sawgrass
Source: PGA Tour
Jordan Spieth has had a primarily boom-or-bust 2025 season. He has only played in four events, finished top-10 in two of them, T-69, and missed the cut. Coming off of wrist surgery, Spieth's game looks much improved from last season, and he is starting to revive parts that have failed him over the previous several years—he ranks 55th on tour in strokes gained putting and 54th in strokes gained off the tee. The downside for this week is his less-than-mediocre course history at TPC Sawgrass and his below-average iron play. He's missed the cut six times in his 10 starts at the stadium course, and his last top-10 finish was in 2014, his first start in the event. Spieth is a risky play this week in DFS.Avoid Cameron Young At The PLAYERS Championship
Source: PGA Tour
Cameron Young has struggled mightily so far in the 2025 season. He has only one top-10 finish and has missed the cut three times in the six events he has played in. Adding more salt to the wound is the fact that he has not finished better than 51st at the stadium course in his three appearances. Young's iron play has failed him this year with -1.018 strokes gained on approach, ranking 176th on tour. The key to success at TPC Sawgrass is driving accuracy and short iron play, and Young has succeeded at neither this season. To put it in perspective, he ranks 168th in driving accuracy, 133rd from 125-150 yards, and 122nd from 150-175 yards. It's safe to say it's not even worth taking a flyer on Young this week; avoid him at all costs.Michael Kim Continues Incredible Form Ahead Of The PLAYERS Championship

Justin Thomas Looking For More Magic At TPC Sawgrass
Source: Data Golf
It still seems like yesterday that Justin Thomas was storming up the leaderboard at the 2021 Players Championship and rope-hooking a wood down the left side of the iconic 18th hole to allow him to edge out an aging Lee Westwood by one stroke. Flash forward four years, and a lot has changed about JT's game, most of it not for the better. 2025 has had a successful beginning, but after a T36 at Bay Hill last week and losing an average of -1.16 strokes with the flat stick, it is safe to have doubts about him finding the tools to post a quality finish at TPC Sawgrass this time around. Putting has been a hindrance on bermuda greens for much of his career, and with losing over seven strokes on the greens at the Stadium Course over the past two years, it must be considered before adding him to lineups, though everything else seemingly points to all systems go.Xander Schauffele Continues Competitive Return At The Players Championship
Source: Data Golf
It certainly wasn't a week worth remembering at Bay Hill for Xander Schauffele. The 31-year-old returned from a two-month absence to finish T40 at one of the tougher venues on the PGA Tour. While the finish may not be what is expected of the reigning PGA and Open Champion, making it through the week unscathed should feel like somewhat of a victory. It isn't like his game is that far off, either. The world no. three finished the week with an average of +0.57 strokes gained on approach (ranked 20th in the field) and +0.20 in strokes gained off the tee. Touch and feel on and around the greens is clearly a sore spot, but a player of Schauffele's caliber will likely knock the rust off fairly quickly. Still, given the strength of the field and the demanding nature of the Stadium Course, it's unlikely that he will produce enough to justify his hefty DFS price tag.Rory McIlroy Looks To Reverse Recent History At TPC Sawgrass
Source: Data Golf
Since his victory in 2019, Rory McIlroy has not had the greatest of times at the Stadium Course. Putting has been the main concern during that time, as he lost a combined -13.28 strokes on the greens between 2021 and 2023. That has luckily been a strong point of emphasis for the 35-year-old this season, as he has ranked inside the top 10 in strokes gained putting in two of four events. Given that he averaged -0.28 strokes gained on approach at Bay Hill, the iron play is perhaps the largest question mark heading into Thursday. Still, McIlroy is a weekly asset and should warrant any consideration DFS players are willing to give him.Victor Hovland Looking To Find Form At The PLAYERS Championship
Source: PGA Tour
Victor Hovland has started in four PGA Tour events this season, posting results of T36, T22, and two missed cuts. He now turns his focus to The PLAYERS Championship, an event he has played in four times, including two top-10 finishes in 2022 and 2023. To replicate that success at TPC Sawgrass, players will need to excel from tee to green, with particular emphasis on accuracy off the tee and on approach. Hovland currently ranks 40th in driving accuracy and 35th in strokes gained off the tee (0.350 per round). He also ranks in the 91st percentile in proximity from 100-150 yards, a crucial range considering that 32.3% of all approach shots at Sawgrass last year came from this distance. Although Hovland's recent form may cause hesitation for fantasy managers, his strong history at this event makes him a potential bounce-back candidate. At $9,000 on DraftKings, he is worth considering for your lineups.
