Joshua Van extended his win streak by defeating the former title challenger Brandon Royval via unanimous decision on the main card of UFC 317. It was a back-and-forth fight, but Van may have stolen the fight on the judges' scorecards in the final moments of the fight, as he dropped Royval and almost finished him with ground and pound. Near the end of the first round, Moicano dropped Dariush with a big right hand and tried to find a finish, but Dariush was able to survive and get back on his feet. Dariush overcame an early scare when Moicano dropped Dariush near the end of the first round, but the second and third rounds went to Dariush.
