Padres Looking At Kris Bryant

The San Diego Padres are looking at free-agent third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant, among a number of other options. If the Padres were to land Bryant, they could start him at third base and move Manny Machado to shortstop with Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) out for around three months due to a fractured wrist. The Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners are two other teams interested in signing Bryant. The 30-year-old spent last season with the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants, hitting a combined .265/.353/.481 with 25 home runs, 73 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 586 plate appearances over 144 games. The four-time All-Star is a former MVP and Rookie of the Year, and although he may no longer be in his prime, he can still be a solid fantasy contributor no matter where he lands.
