Packers Won't Trade Aaron Rodgers Within NFC
2 years agoThe Green Bay Packers could explore trading quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason, but they will not trade him within the NFC Conference. Rodgers is also considering retirement for the third straight season after missing the postseason following his three-year, $150 million contract extension. The 39-year-old future Hall of Famer doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract either, so the Packers won't need his direct permission to trade him, at least contractually. Green Bay will be up against the salary cap in 2023 and would free up around $60 million if they trade Rodgers. While he doesn't have a full no-trade clause, the Packers would likely work with Rodgers and trade him to a team that he approves. The New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders would make the most sense in the AFC.
