Pablo Lopez Dominant in Triple-A Rehab Start
Pablo Lopez (shoulder) was outstanding in a rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday. Lopez threw 5 2/3 innings of scoreless, four-hit ball while striking out seven and walking one on 82 pitches (52 strikes). It was the third and likely final rehab start for Lopez, who has been sidelined with a teres major strain in his shoulder since early June. Before suffering the injury, the 29-year-old went 5-3 with a 2.82 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP, and 61:14 K:BB over 11 starts and 60 2/3 innings. Barring a change of plans, Lopez should return to the Twins' rotation in the coming days, likely during a weekend series against the Kansas City Royals.
