The Philadelphia Flyers and forward Owen Tippett have agreed to an eight-year, $49.6 million contract extension that carries an average annual value of $6.2 million. The right-shot winger was a 10th-overall draft pick of the Florida Panthers in 2017 but was acquired by the Flyers in the March 2022 trade that sent Claude Giroux to Florida. The 24-year-old broke out with 27 goals and 49 points on a hearty 231 shots on goal and 125 hits last season and has tallied 18 goals and 30 points along with 167 shots and 68 hits across 46 games this season. Interestingly, he's seeing far less ice time this season at 15:51 per game versus 17:26 last season. Nonetheless, he remains a nice cross-category fantasy producer on the rise.--Brenton Kemp
