Oswald Peraza Activated And Optioned To Minors
2 years agoThe New York Yankees reinstated shortstop Oswald Peraza (ankle) from the 10-day injured list after Friday night's game and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Peraza will most likely be back with the Yankees at some point this year, but he really struggled to a .188 batting average (6-for-32) with a double, three RBI, two stolen bases, four runs scored and six strikeouts in 12 games played in just his second major-league season. Meanwhile, rookie Anthony Volpe continues to operate as the team's starting shortstop at the big-league level. The 22-year-old Peraza's single-year stock is down and he can probably be left to the waiver wire in mixed leagues, but this isn't the last we'll see of him this year.
