Oscar Colas Will Be Given Shot In Right Field
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfield prospect Oscar Colas will have every opportunity to win the starting right field job in 2023 in spring training, according to manager Pedro Grifol. The 24-year-old is the second-ranked prospect in the team's farm system, and he hit .314 with 23 home runs, 79 RBI and an .895 OPS in 117 games over three minor-league levels in 2022. Gavin Sheets, Leury Garcia and Jake Marisnick are the other options in right field, but Grifol didn't rule out the defensively challenged Eloy Jimenez factoring in as well. Otherwise, Jimenez will be the team's primary designated hitter. Colas, even if he starts the year in the minors, will be worth stashing in AL-only and deep-mixed fantasy leagues in 2023.
