O's Giving Adley Rutschman A Day Off
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman is getting a breather on Wednesday against the visiting Chicago White Sox. James McCann will do the catching instead and will hit eighth in the batting order against White Sox right-hander Dylan Cease. This will be only Rutschman's third game off in the second half of the season. The 25-year-old All-Star backstop is one of the best young catchers in the game and is currently hitting .275/.367/.422 with 16 home runs, 62 RBI and 70 runs scored in 491 at-bats in just his second major-league season. He's been even better in the month of August, going 32-for-107 (.299) with two homers, five doubles, a triple, 15 RBI, a stolen base and 18 runs scored in 26 starts.
