4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz, the team's No. 3 prospect and No. 59 overall per MLB Pipeline, hit a home run in Game 3 of the semifinals in the Dominican Republic Winter League and was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI in Game 4. The 6-foot-7 22-year-old hit .357 with four runs and three RBI in the series, also walking three times and stealing a base. Cruz was involved in a car accident that killed three last September, but it looks like he won't be charged with a DUI and should be a full participant in spring training. Despite his size, the left-handed hitter has plenty of arm strength to stick at shortstop and could also develop into an offensive superstar at the next level.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
