Oneil Cruz Out Against A Lefty
6 months agoPittsburgh Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz is sitting out on Tuesday against left-hander Nick Lodolo and the visiting Cincinnati Reds. With Cruz out, Jared Triolo will start at shortstop and bat seventh against Lodolo. Cruz is hitting just .113 (7-for-62) with two of his nine home runs, three walks and 23 strikeouts in 65 plate appearances against southpaws this year, so he'll take a seat in this one against a tough left-hander. He's currently in the midst of a four-game hitting streak in which he's gone 6-for-17 (.353) with two doubles and four RBI. Cruz has been better in the month of June, batting .296 (13-for-44) with two homers, three doubles, 10 RBI and a stolen bases as Pittsburgh's starting shortstop. Triolo has never faced Lodolo in his career and won't be a popular DFS sleeper on Tuesday.
