New Jersey Devils left wing Ondrej Palat underwent successful groin surgery, the team announced Tuesday. The two-time Stanley Cup champion had already missed three games and it looks like he won't be available for a while. The Devils didn't yet announce a timeline for his return. Palat, who came over from Tampa as a free agent in the summer, netted three goals in six games before getting injured. Tomas Tatar has moved into his spot on the first line, notching two points in the three games Palat has missed. He's done a decent job so far, but Tatar's spot likely isn't set in stone and others should get a look on the line as well while Palat recovers.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
