New York Giants linebacker Olivier Vernon (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle in practice on Sunday, according to a source informed of the player's condition. He's also dealing with a deep bone bruise high on his ankle that clouds his timetable for a return. Head coach Pat Shurmur said Vernon is day-to-day on Monday. The 27-year-old edge rusher may be questionable for Week 1. He is set to be a key cog on defense while moving to outside linebacker this season. Vernon played in just 12 games for the Giants last year and had 38 tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
