Nolan McLean 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: There's a New King in Queens
Over the last 12 months, Nolan McLean transitioned from an intriguing pitching prospect with upside to one of the top young arms in the game and one of the frontrunners this season for the National League Rookie of the Year award. McLean absolutely dominated in his eight starts with the Mets late last season, posting a stellar 2.06 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 8.5% walk rate, and a 30.3% strikeout rate. The arsenal runs six pitches deep, with four of his five most-used offerings having a BAA under .200 last season. McLean also had a whiff rate above 20% on three different offerings, including a 50% whiff rate on his curveball. All of this becomes even more impressive when you remember that the 2025 season was the first season where McLean was focusing solely on pitching after giving up two-way aspirations. All the ingredients are here for McLean to be a fantasy ace in 2026 and beyond. He's worth the price in fantasy drafts as an SP2.
