Nolan Gorman Slugs Two Homers At Double-A
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals third base prospect Nolan Gorman sent balls flying at the Double-A level on Friday. The powerful, young hitter slugged two home runs and drove in three runs. Gorman has been hitting well in 2021 with a .315 average but his power output had been down in the early going. The homers now give him seven long-balls on the season through 32 games. The 21-year-old hitter continues to show a more mature approach at the plate with reduced strikeouts (22.5%) and a solid walk rate (11%) which has helped him post a 145 wRC+. He may soon be ready for the Triple-A challenge and is a solid dynasty league option. Gorman has also improved his versatility with nine games played at second base.
