Noel Cuevas Relegated To Triple-A
6 years agoColorado Rockies rookie outfielder Noel Cuevas took a trip back to Albuquerque on Sunday as his spot was taken by first baseman Ryan McMahon. Cuevas hasn't performed too poorly in the majors this year, hitting .241 with a pair of home runs in 138 at-bats, but the team is scheduled to face seven straight right-handed starting pitchers in the near future and are dealing with injuries on the right side of the infield as opposed to the outfield. This is the perfect situation for McMahon to see some big-league time, so Cuevas will grab some at-bats at the lower level. Expect Cuevas to see the majors again later this season.
