Colorado Rockies rookie outfielder Noel Cuevas is battling for regular playing time with the glut of outfielders, and he continues to shine at just about every turn. Friday, he was the critical piece as he pinch hit for starting pitcher Jon Gray in a tie game in the 6th inning. Cuevas had catcher Tony Wolters on second and needed to come through. He did in spades. Cuevas ripped a triple that would easily score Wolters and put Colorado on top for good. Cuevas has brought a dependable light-hitting bat to Colorado’s lineup, hitting .302 in his limited action so far, and he should continue to see regular turns in the rotation in the outfield.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
