Noah Schultz Strikes Out Four in Latest Start
Noah Schultz allowed one earned run on six hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings of work in his latest start at Double-A Birmingham this past Friday. The performance lowered his season-long ERA to 3.72 and now has 47 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched, but Chicago's top prospect still owns a high 1.63 WHIP. In his previous start, the lefty tossed five innings of one-hit ball with four strikeouts, but it came with three walks. Coming into 2025, the former first-round draft pick owned a 6.5 percent walk rate, so to see him with a 13.7 percent walk rate this year is a bit surprising. Nevertheless, if he continues to limit the damage and strike batters out, some time at Triple-A later in the year is likely, and a late-season debut with the big league club is still on the table.
