No Explanation For Starling Marte's Absence
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he was unable to update the status of outfielder Starling Marte on Thursday after he was missing from summer camp for a third straight day. Arizona announced on Wednesday that they have a new positive COVID-19 test on Wednesday, but they didn't identify the player. There's a chance it's Marte. If he has tested positive, he'll need two negative tests to rejoin his teammates at workouts. Marte had career highs in homers, runs scored, RBI and slugging percentage before being traded by the Pirates, and now he's in an even more fantasy friendly environment in the desert. He might slightly more of a risk if he doesn't return to camp soon, but the 31-year-old should still be considered a top-10 outfielder right now.
