Nicklas Backstrom Riding Three-Game Point Streak
7 years agoWashington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom continues to show that the adverse effects of him missing time are minimal. He closed out the Eastern Conference Finals with three points in two games and started the Stanley Cup Finals in good form, scoring a goal and adding an assist in the Caps loss Monday. Backstrom re-joined the second line alongside T.J. Oshie and Jakub Vrana, and the unit created two of Washington’s four goals. Backstrom may even be having a positive effect on the play of Oshie, who tallied a pair of even-strength assists in Game 1. The Swedish pivot is looking better each night, so feel free to give him run in DFS. The only knock against him is a lack of shots on goal, as four is his postseason high in any given game.
