Nicklas Backstrom Logs Strongest Game Since Return
7 years agoWashington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom returned from a hand injury in Game 4 of the Conference Finals. In his first two games, the missed time appeared to have taken a toll on the Swede, as he posted no points and had a minus-one rating in each game. In Game 6 on Monday, he started to look back to form. Back in a top-six role, Backstrom assisted both of linemate T.J. Oshie’s goals, the first of which came with the man advantage. This performance was very reassuring for prospective Backstrom owners, as he’s widely known as one of the best passers in the game. This was Backstrom’s strongest showing since his return, and he’ll need a repeat performance to be worth a DFS start for Game 7. This, however, is not a sure thing.
