Nick Senzel To Play Center Field, Shortstop During Rehab
3 years agoCincinnati Reds skipper David Bell said that he anticipates outfielder Nick Senzel (knee) playing both center field and shortstop during his rehab assignment next week. Senzel had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in late May and is hoping to rejoin the team early next month, barring any setbacks on his rehab assignment. The 26-year-old has never played at shortstop in a major league game, but he's athletic enough to do so and has experience in the infield from his time in the minor leagues. Putting Senzel at shortstop would allow Tyler Naquin to stay in the outfield after he's swung a hot bat for the Reds for most of the season. Senzel was hitting .252/.323/.315 with a homer, eight RBI and two steals in 111 at-bats before his injury. He's an intriguing power-speed threat to consider in deep mixed leagues if he was dropped by his previous owner.
