11 months agoThe good news for Philadelphia Phillies starter Nick Pivetta is that he allowed his second-fewest number of earned runs in the month of July Friday night. The bad news was that it was five runs on eight hits, resulting in his ninth loss of the season. The 25-year-old did strike out 12, his second most of the season, but made a couple of mistakes, including a decisive, three-run home run in the fourth inning. Ultimately it was another uneven performance where he displayed his best and worst moments. His next start is scheduled for Thursday night at Citizens Bank Park against the Miami Marlins.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
