Nick Lodolo Starts Rehab Assignment Friday
1 year agoThe Cincinnati Reds sent left-hander Nick Lodolo (calf) on a minor-league rehab assignment at the Arizona Complex League on Friday. Lodolo is attempting to return from left-calf tendinosis. The 25-year-old southpaw hasn't pitched in the big leagues since May 6, so he will surely need at least a handful of starts to build up his pitch count. Barring a setback, though, he should be able to return to the Reds' starting rotation in late August. Lodolo didn't look good in his first seven starts in 2023 before his injury, as he surrendered 24 earned runs on 50 hits (10 home runs) while walking 10 and strikeout out 47 in 34 1/3 innings. Despite the rough start, Lodolo is worth picking up in any leagues where he was dropped. The young lefty has fanned 178 hitters in 137 2/3 frames in his first two big-league seasons to this point.
