Nick Gordon Expects To Play Thursday
2 years agoMinnesota Twins utility man Nick Gordon (ankle) said he expects to play second base in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Gordon is recovering from a high-ankle sprain in spring training, but he's nearing his return to game action for the Twins. If he can avoid setbacks once he's back on the field, the 27-year-old should be ready to go for Opening Day at the end of March. Given his positional versatility, Gordon should see regular playing time in Minnesota after he produced a solid .272/.316/.427 slash line, .743 OPS, nine home runs, 50 RBI, 45 runs and six stolen bases in 136 games in his second big-league season in 2022.
