Nick Foles, Mitchell Trubisky Need To Bring Energy
4 years agoChicago Bears quarterbacks Nick Foles and Mitchell Trubisky, who will be competing for the starting job in training camp, will need to bring plenty of energy to the battle this summer. Quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo said he's looking for "juice" at the position. DeFilippo spent the 2017 season in Philly with Foles and the 2019 season in Jacksonville with him, so there is familiarity and history there. The QB coach thinks Trubisky's biggest hurdle is the mental side of the game. The former No. 2 overall pick must also improve his footwork to have a chance at retaining the starting gig. Neither signal-caller is terribly attractive from a fantasy perspective in the starting role, but Foles has the bigger arm and slightly more fantasy upside as a low-end QB2 if he wins the job, as is expected.
