Nick Foles Is Expendable
4 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles is experienced and capable, but he is, after all, the No. 3 signal-caller behind Andy Dalton and rookie first-rounder Justin Fields, so he is expendable heading into the 2021 season. There's a possibility that he could play elsewhere this year, but the Bears are unlikely to simply release him. He'll become logical trade bait in the preseason if another club suffers a notable injury at the position. However, the 32-year-old has $4 million guaranteed on his contract in 2021 and $5 million guaranteed in 2022, so the Bears might have to eat some money if they decide to trade him. As of right now, the Bears would probably prefer to have his experience and leadership in their QB room, but Foles obviously won't have any fantasy value unless one of Dalton or Fields get hurt.

Nick Foles Uncertain About Future
2 years agoFree-agent quarterback Nick Foles was released by the Indianapolis Colts on Friday. But the signal-caller didn't seem too upset about it. "It's OK. The coach that I was there for, Frank Reich, was fired," stated Foles during a church event in California. "Shoot, almost every year of my career I've almost retired. Every offseason, I think, 'Do I still want to play?' Specifically, this last year with everything." The 34-year-old has played for six teams since entering the league in 2012. During his career, he's thrown for 14,227 passing yards, 82 touchdowns, and 42 picks while completing 62.4% of his throws. He also made the Pro Bowl in 2013 and led the Eagles to a win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. Of course, Foles' best days are likely behind him, so he probably won't have much fantasy value this season, even if he ends up starting somewhere.

Nick Foles Released By Colts
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles has been released by the organization on Friday. The veteran didn't have much a role on the team last season. He finished with 224 yards, no touchdowns, and four interceptions in two games with the Colts this past season. The former Super Bowl MVP hasn't done much since winning it all with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. The Colts have Gardner Minshew and first-round pick Anthony Richardson, so there was little need for Foles to be on the roster. Possibly, he can find a backup spot elsewhere, but the 11-year veteran doesn't have much left to prove.

Sam Ehlinger To Start Against Texans, Nick Foles Ruled Out
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles (ribs) will not play against the Houston Texans in Week 18. Interim head coach Jeff Saturday said Foles is still sore after taking a brutal hit against the New York Giants in the Week 17 loss. Sam Ehlinger will make his third start of the season, with Matt Ryan serving as his backup. Ehlinger has completed 41 of his 66 passing attempts for 364 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He remains off the fantasy radar in single-QB leagues in Week 18.
