Nick Foles Is Expendable
3 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles is experienced and capable, but he is, after all, the No. 3 signal-caller behind Andy Dalton and rookie first-rounder Justin Fields, so he is expendable heading into the 2021 season. There's a possibility that he could play elsewhere this year, but the Bears are unlikely to simply release him. He'll become logical trade bait in the preseason if another club suffers a notable injury at the position. However, the 32-year-old has $4 million guaranteed on his contract in 2021 and $5 million guaranteed in 2022, so the Bears might have to eat some money if they decide to trade him. As of right now, the Bears would probably prefer to have his experience and leadership in their QB room, but Foles obviously won't have any fantasy value unless one of Dalton or Fields get hurt.
