Nationals, Victor Robles Avoid Arbitration
2 years agoThe Washington Nationals and outfielder Victor Robles avoided salary arbitration on Monday by agreeing to a one-year deal with a team option for the 2024 season. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Speed is about the only thing endearing Robles to fantasy managers these days, as he slashed a weak .224/.273/.311 with a career-low .584 OPS, six home runs, 33 RBI, 42 runs scored, 15 stolen bases and 104 strikeouts in 407 plate appearances and 132 games in 2022 in his sixth MLB season. Robles is still young, though, and should be the Nationals starting center fielder to open up the season. His glove and speed will buy him more time as a regular for the rebuilding Nationals.
