Mookie Betts Officially Goes On IL, Out 6-8 Weeks
6 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that shortstop Mookie Betts (wrist) is expected to miss six to eight weeks after fracturing his left wrist on a hit-by-pitch on Sunday in the series finale against the Kansas City Royals. The Dodgers officially placed Betts on the 10-day injured list on Monday and recalled outfielder Miguel Vargas from the minors in a corresponding move. If Betts heals faster than expected, there's a chance that he could be back within six weeks, but that remains to be seen. In the meantime, fantasy managers need to keep the superstar stashed in all formats. With the 31-year-old All-Star sidelined, veteran Miguel Vargas will take over starting duties at shortstop in LA. Rojas has hit a respectable .278 (30-for-108) this year, but he offers limited counting-stat upside, even in a potent Dodgers lineup.
