Mookie Betts Clubs Two Homers In Loss To Braves
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder/second baseman Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI, three runs scored and a walk in the team's 8-7 loss to the visiting Atlanta Braves on Thursday night. The impressive performance capped off a franchise-record month in August for the 30-year-old All-Star. Betts finished the month of August with a franchise-record 51 hits in 112 at-bats (.455) with 11 home runs, 10 doubles, 30 RBI, three stolen bases and 35 runs scored in 28 starts. Talk about en fuego. Along with the Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr., Betts is a favorite for National League MVP in 2023. On the year as a whole, he's slashing a sublime .317/.411/.622 with a 1.034 OPS, a career-high 38 long balls, 98 RBI, 10 steals and 116 runs scored in 498 at-bats. He leads the league with his .622 slugging percentage, 1.034 OPS and 310 total bases.
