Mitch Haniger Has Another Core Surgery
5 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (hernia) underwent his second core surgery in three weeks on Thursday. There remains no timetable for Haniger's return, but his 2020 season will be significantly delayed. The 2018 breakout star was plagued by injuries last season and played in only 63 games as a result, and now it looks like 2020 will be a similar story. Until we have a better idea of how long Haniger might be out, it's hard to recommend taking him in mixed league drafts. His injury is good news for Kyle Lewis, Jake Fraley, Braden Bishop and Jose Siri as they look to earn playing time in Seattle's outfield next to center fielder Mallex Smith.
