New Jersey Devils left wing Miles Wood has undergone hip surgery and will be sidelined indefinitely. The 26-year-old, who posted 17 goals and eight assists in 55 games last season, injured his right hip during a preseason game and hasn't been able to help the team during the regular season. "After exhausting all conservative measures, and in consultation with team medical providers and external specialists, Miles has elected to receive surgery," announced the Devils in a statement. New Jersey has scored 2.50 goals per game without Wood in the lineup, sitting 26th in scoring in the league this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
