Mike Trout Will Not Be Traded This Offseason
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout will not be traded this offseason, according to general manager Perry Minasian. It's something that was likely never going to happen, but Minasian said it definitively on Tuesday at the winter meetings in Nashville, Tennessee. The Angels are expected to lose out on re-signing two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani this winter, which makes all the more reason to hang onto Trout, even if he's showing signs of age and coming off a hand/wrist injury that basically kept him sidelined for the entire second half of the 2023 season. The 32-year-old played in only 82 games for the Halos this past season and slashed .263/.367/.490 with an .858 OPS, 18 home runs, 44 RBI and 54 runs scored. With better health, the 32-year-old future Hall of Famer should be able to bounce back for fantasy managers.
