Mike Trout Getting Close To A Rehab Assignment
5 months agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (knee) will head to the team's spring training facility in Arizona to ramp up his rehab and will face live pitching there before going on a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake, manager Ron Washington said on Friday. Trout has said all along that he hopes to return to the Angels by the end of July, but that will depend on how soon the 32-year-old 11-time All-Star can begin a rehab assignment. Because of the fact that Trout has been sidelined for two-plus months due to his knee injury, fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he doesn't come back until early August. Either way, Trout should remain stashed in all fantasy leagues, even though he's become injury-prone on the wrong side of 30 years old. He was hitting just .220 (24-for-109) early this year before his injury but did have 10 homers and six steals.
