Mike Leake Hopes To Smooth Out Bumpy July
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Mike Leake has allowed 27 hits in his last 14 innings heading into the second half of the season beginning on Friday. Leake went 5-2 in the months of May and June but has been hit around hard in his previous two starts to finish up the first half. Leake for the season is 8-6 with a 4.22 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. But Leake has had difficulty working out of jams this season, posting a 12.39 ERA with runners in scoring position and a 5.35 ERA pitching with two outs in an inning. Leake is a middle of the rotation pitcher who will take the ball and eat up some innings. But his fantasy value, however, is best utilized in matchup-friendly situations against inferior teams moving forward.
