Montreal Canadiens winger Mike Hoffman is dealing with an upper-body injury and missed Friday's practice. The team considers him day-to-day for now. Montreal is set to start the season on Oct. 12 against Toronto. Hoffman has struggled to find consistent form ever since leaving Florida in 2020, but he finished last season with a nice five-game point streak and will hope to open the new campaign on the right foot as well. Hoffman is projected to start the year on the second line, although Montreal's plans for the season opener could change quickly, as center Christian Dvorak also missed Friday's practice with an upper-body problem.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
