He was unable to carry on after taking a hit from behind from Senators captain Brady Tkachuk in the third period. The 34-year-old veteran had an anonymous outing, finishing pointless and with no shots on goal in 13:32 of action. Following the departures of Tomas Hertl and Anthony Duclair, Hoffman sits fourth in scoring among the Sharks players, with 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) posted in 61 games.
