Mike Boone Unlikely To Return This Year
2 years agoDenver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett said that "it doesn't look good" for running back Mike Boone (ankle) to return this season after he was carted off in the Week 14 loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday with an ankle injury. If Boone does indeed miss the final four games, Denver will likely elevate Devine Ozigbo from the practice squad to the active roster as the No. 3 back behind Latavius Murray and Marlon Mack. The 27-year-old Boone has just 24 carries for 102 yards while catching nine passes for 96 yards in nine games in his second season in Denver. Mack had a 66-yard touchdown reception on Sunday, his first score since 2019, so he could see more work alongside Murray in this backfield moving forward.
