Mike Boone Looks Good In Preseason Opener
1 year agoIn last week's preseason opener against the New England Patriots, Houston Texans running back Mike Boone was decisive and fast and finished with 25 rushing yards on four carries. He also caught one pass for seven yards. His performance solidified his chances of earning the No. 3 RB job behind starter Dameon Pierce and top backup Devin Singletary. "He's an explosive runner," head coach DeMeco Ryans said. "He has dynamic speed. He showed a little glimpse of that in the game, and he has continued to move forward. I think he's doing some good things for us." The 28-year-old former undrafted free agent had 24 carries for 102 yards and no touchdowns in nine games (zero starts) for the Denver Broncos in 2022. Unless one of Pierce or Singletary miss time with an injury this year, Boone will be mostly off the fantasy radar.
