Mikal Bridges' Late Heroics Not Enough For Team USA Versus Canada
1 year agoBrooklyn Nets forward Mikal Bridges came up with a miraculous four-point play in Team USA's bronze medal battle against Canada at the World Cup. With mere seconds left in regulation, Bridges made one free throw and intentionally missed the second, grabbed the rebound, and sent the game to overtime with a turnaround corner triple. Unfortunately for Bridges and his teammates, the Canadians still powered past them in the extra period, winning the game 127-118. The Nets star had 19 points in total in the clash with 6-for-12 shooting from the field. He also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds and handed out four assists while collecting two steals. Bridges played an efficient game throughout the World Cup, shooting 63.3 percent, but only came alive offensively late in the competition and averaged 13.6 points. He now starts preparing for his first full season in Brooklyn, which promises to be a big one for the 27-year-old.
