Michael Toglia Hits 21st Homer, Records Four Runs During Multi-Hit Game
4 months agoColorado Rockies first baseman Michael Toglia had a very productive day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run en route to recording four runs in the Rockies' 9-2 win over the New York Yankees on Saturday. Toglia now has an .809 OPS on the season and has greatly benefitted from consistent playing time with the Rockies. The switch-hitter hit for an .881 OPS in July and has a .939 OPS in August, greatly improved from his career .688 OPS. Fantasy managers looking for help at first base need to look Toglia's way, as his .361 xwOBA ranks in the 88th percentile. With no other veterans blocking Toglia at first base, he should continue to get consistent playing time to finish the season. Expect Toglia to be in Sunday's lineup when the Rockies take on Yankees' scheduled starter Marcus Stroman.
