Michael Taylor Avoids Arbitration
5 years agoThe Washington Nationals and outfielder Michael Taylor avoided salary arbitration on Thursday by agreeing to a one-year, $3.325 million deal, according to a source. He'll receive $25,000 in incentives if he reaches 300 plate appearances in the majors next season. The 28-year-old speedster hit only .250/.305/.364 in 97 plate appearances in 2019 and was demoted to Double-A Harrisburg in late June and returned in September. With Victor Robles, Juan Soto and Adam Eaton the starter's in the outfield when healthy, Taylor will serve as a fourth outfielder entering the season. He won't have much fantasy appeal unless one of those three is injured.
